Being a conscious runner

I believe that running is a way to transform our lives.

Not just to lose weight. Not just to give us targets to get fired up and enter races, and go the distance with our training…

But these things too. I believe that what running offers us is the ultimate opportunity to find connection (and not with the online communities over a strava-self! ; ) But maybe that too…!).

It gives us the potential to cultivate a connection with our body…a moving, working, changing, progressive relationship with the physical entity that carries our energetic selves through this life. It allows us to shift tensions, and overcome our hurdles…although sometimes it can create just as many! And it can make us ask more and more of ourselves in a time, space and place where we didn’t know more could be found…

It also gives us the opportunity to connect with the earth – with nature, with the changing seasons and with the sometime tumultuous, and sometimes brutal weather…

It can help us to connect to our feelings, and the freedom and motion can help us to work out the trials and tribulations of life…

Elephant Journal published my article about being a conscious runner… I firmly believe that the more aware we are in all areas of our lives, the better lives we’ll all lead.
