Tricky September

September’s all about settling back into the swing of things, isn’t it?

It can be a little tricky too though, I find. That back-to-school feeling where everything is new and feels fresh and full of the potential of hard work…and yet it doesn’t quite pan out straight away, does it?!

Maybe it’s because September can play some deceptive little tricks! Brilliant blue skies and the last of big blousy blooms still abound, and then in the very next breath the clouds take cover and frankly it mighty chilly and on occasion, decidedly dreary!

It just takes a while to ‘get into’ I find…

Perhaps our collective energy is somewhat distracted with making sure that the children are settled and cranking up the busyness as we all return from holiday-mode, that our own priorities get side-tracked somewhat…?

Maybe we’re still secretly hankering after warm summer days, dappled shade and lazy afternoons (or is that just me?!?), and are resisting the shift somewhat!?

Or perhaps it’s because, even though the kids are back in uniform, we’re still waiting for the actual shift in energy and into the new season that the equinox brings us…

So if you happen to feel the same: ‘oh my word, all of a sudden we’re half way through September and – how did that happen?!’, worry not…we’re nearly through this funny little phase!
