Super sunny highlights from the Farmhouse Five 2017
The Farmhouse Five 2017 was a glorious second running of the ladies race along the Fynn Valley in Bealings, Suffolk.
Running Goddesses congregated from all over the county joined on Mother’s Day 2017 at the stunning barn at Lux Farm. Photographer Ruth Leach captured shots of all runners, and ‘Team Mum’s in the pop-up studio, while kiddies queued up for face painting!
The three separate category of runner – Oh wow, I can’t believe I did it! / I am inherently strong and powerful / I have the wind beneath my wings – started in separate waves and followed the fabulous footpaths for five miles before aiming to catch the wave in front (with oodles of grace as encouragement, of course!)
On returning to the Race HQ, to receive goodies galore for all finishers: irresistible packets of Munchy Seeds, gorgeous pots of massage wax from Songbird Naturals and sachets of Paddy & Scott’s Chit Chat coffee (most approrpriately! ; ) before polishing off well-deserved delicious tea and cake from Christine’s Patisserie & Tea Rooms in Woodbridge!
Kaye Souter’s phenomenal bouquets and stems went to the category winners and the ‘Predictor Team Challenge’ winners (who wouldn’t want to receive flowers on Mother’s Day?!?)
And then on to the main event – the huge charity raffle in aid of Ipswich’s Lighthouse Women’s Aid. With an extensive list of prizes donated with truly outstanding generosity from too many local businesses and companies to mention, both Green Health Events, and all of the winners (!), were incredibly grateful for the support to help us raise £475 for Lighthouse!
Special thanks to our superb sponsors – The Natural Health Centre, Woodbridge; The Fitness Project & The Flying Runner online magazine and supporters.
And not to forget the fabulous help and support from our race partners – Ruth Leach Photography, Kaye Souter Flowers, Anne Gould’s WorkingWordz Media & Rob Lambert Massage.
Very many thanks to all…and also to whomever organises the weather as well! ; )
It was a fabulous day all in! Thanks to Ruth Leach Photography for the brilliant shots.

Thank you very much! Great day, fantastic organisation. Enjoyed very much!
I did the run today with a group of friends and I would just like to say thanks for organising such a fantastic event. We enjoyed it so much, and really appreciated the unique elements – the beautiful route, the charity and the experience of running with women. It must be very hard work to organise but it really is worth it and much appreciated. Dawn is awesome! And thanks to everyone else involved – hope there are more in the future.
