Sometimes you only really need one thing to latch on to…

The Lynchpin

At those times when everything can seem up in the air and uncertain – perhaps relationships, work, finances, health…but if one thing can remain a constant for you, you’ve got a lynchpin in the sand and you know you’ll be able to carve a pathway through…

A constant to rely upon, something stable, certain, and something which feels familiar and which possibly still feels within some semblance of your control (because when ‘it’ – whatever ‘it’ is – goes up in bits…it can often feel that everything else has gone up with it!)

When uncertainty strikes on the one hand, we need an anchor on the other…for balance. To bring us back to centre, or to keep us in contact with the ground so that we have someplace from which to navigate, or simply to remain sane…

For some that lynchpin may be a person; someone that you know for absolute certain that won’t let you down; for some it may be a place – somewhere that you can go to that you know you’re safe, a stolen hideaway perhaps; somewhere stable and secure…perhaps it’s a place that you call home, or the beach, or church, or the mosque. Maybe it’s the pub.

When everything else feels up in the air, maybe it’s running that you turn to for that reliable, safe feeling…perhaps it’s your mat, and the breath.

My writing is my safe haven. A place to understand and assimilate a multitude of lessons from years in the clinic, as well as myriad observations of life and love…

And of course, the greatest value is to be gained from sharing this learning… and so welcome to this – my new home! There is an open invitation for you to come on in and take a look around. It is, and will continue to unfold as a space for a plethora of writing and ideas of health-inducing notions… One place for all of my work, projects and observations to live.

All of which will hopefully breathe and grow, as I continue to do so…

Running, Breathing and Living Green Health

Living Green Health is what I’ve been learning about, have been striving towards and assimilating into my life for the last decade, since becoming a health practitioner.

Living Green Health combines positive and natural ideas about running and movement, yoga and nutrition, and about the connectedness of our psychology and impact of community on our health. It’s mental and physical fuel to help you unfold your optimal potential on your journey…

It’s about whole health; natural health; running, breathing, living green health… I see that health is all encompassing. Every facet of our lives affects every facet of our experience and thus, every facet of our health… It’s a brilliant, fascinating and transforming journey, understanding the connections, and how we can positively affect them through natural means.

The physical ones (of course, with my background as a physiotherapist) as well as the mental-emotional ones, and the greater picture of our spiritual lives – they’re all connected. They each depend upon and fuel the others…and when you understand how they connect, you can start to influence the way that they work. When you *feel* like you’re the one running the show(!), it’s a very powerful place from which to move forward…

Being in greater charge of your connected health, inside and out, is in itself a steadfast place to retreat to… It then becomes a reliable, rich constant both in your life, and from which to understand aspects of your life.

I must add here, that I don’t always get it right!  I don’t always manage to stay on track! And from time to time, my health has a paddy too – it tells me that I need to correct my course….because there are signs, and our body has a way of communicating these things to us. We don’t always hear, or understand its messages, nor do we always take heed even when we do! To such a large degree, this ability, this deep knowing and connection with our body has been dampened down to the greater extent with our western ways…but the body will keep communicating to us until we do create the change that’s needed for it/us to operate optimally…

So feel free to join the unfolding of Living Green Health. Pop in, pop out, glean what you need, take what’s on offer, awaken to your innate knowing… Stay awhile; stay for longer. Bring your friends along…
